...Did Activision...Did Activision drink a juice that impaired their judgement so severely for them to think their Public Relations department would help them spin this story? If you don't feel like doing the research for yourself, I'll give you the basic story: Activision fired the studio heads of Infinity Ward on the basis that they breached their contract by contacting their rivals(like EA). The former studio heads filed a lawsuit to Activision, on the basis that Activision had breached their contract by not paying them their royalties from the money Activision made from Modern Warfare 2. Then, rumor has it that the only reason everyone else at Infinity Ward hasn't left is because Activision is withholding paying them their royalties. Oh sure, you can argue that Activision is only doing this because they only care about money. Except, the problem with this reasoning is that YOU DON'T ENSURE CUSTOMER LOYALTY BY SHITCANNING THE GUYS IN CHARGE OF THE TEAM THAT CREATED YOUR BEST SELLING FRANCHISE. LOSING CUSTOMER LOYALTY AND LOWERING EMPLOYEE MORALE IS THE WORST BUSINESS STRATEGY EVER! I'm less pissed off about the fact that Activision is an evil corporation(duh?), but more about the fact that they are so fucking stupid about their strategy of pissing off their own fanbase, and even denying their employees the money they deserve. About those ads for Mapathy that has been going around for the new DLC of Modern Warfare 2 thats coming out...Activision can go fuck themselves for all I care, besides, like hell any sane individual whom is aware of this predicament will fork over 1200 Microsoft Points for five maps. I believe I'll stick to buying and playing games published by the devil that trimmed its horns, also known as EA. Before I go, here are some nice quotes I found to compliment this new story. Getting mad at Activision for this kind of thing is like getting mad at an ape for throwing feces. It's just how the beast communicates. *Goes back to playing Battlefield BC2* |
