A Very Hard WeekI've spent the last several hours packing odds and ends into boxes. The reason why is obvious, I want to move as soon as possible, but it's also comforting in a way. Me packing means that I am that much closer to seeing Maegan again. The only issue is all the crap I've accumulated. I have at least one trash bag full of junk that's getting thrown away, and we don't have any trash bags. With me being such a pack rat, I suppose it's to be expected. In other stuff, I took Kaylee in to the dealership the other day for her annual inspection (something else I won't miss), and the techs had noticed that her steering bar was broken. Fortunately, the part was fully covered by the warranty, but they weren't going to be able to fix it on the same day. Another perk of the warranty, though, was a provided rental car to get me to work. The only thing available was a 2009 Silverado full size pickup, which was interesting to drive when you consider that Kaylee is considered a sub-compact. So I drove a tank for two days, watched the gas meter go from half to about a quarter after six miles, and remembered why I will never EVER own a truck that size purely as a commuting car. |
