Made it to five...So, I realize the other day I hit my own 5 year anniversary on the site. Makes me think back to the day I heard a couple of guys in the computer lab watching the Fourth of July PSA that got me my first look at RvB. And the days I spent watching videos in a terrible order, in which I ended up thinking there were two different purple guys, not both in one body.I remember how at the time the popular RvB thread thing to do was make the OFFICIAL EPISODE XX threads, and how by the time I made one, you were already flamed for doing so. I recall DiMono posting a fake episode transcript once, that was slightly accurate to the episode, but still different. I recall MaxWalrus turning into a huge asshole, and essentially trying to ban everyone. I recall when JesKid was too hot to trot(and according to community stats, still is). I think of all the cool people I've talked with, the associations, the friends made, the friends that disappeared, the minor discussions that have erupted into full on internet dick-wagging, the early trolls, the guys who think they are so smart that they troll, the guys who laugh at others for being pissed off at them for trolling because that was what they wanted, the girls who post pics featuring their chest and watching their watch list grow, the random friend requests, the 12 year olds, the 40 year olds who act like 12 year olds, the ones who post hentai porn as their avatar, the avatar trends, the mod system changes, the infamous bannations, the site changes, the site change ragers, the dudes, the buds, the pricks, the douchebags, the assholes, the cunts, the noobs, the Others, the rise of popularity, the fall of mod whoring, the storming of Normandy........ I recall that despite my length here, I've never actually talked with a single one of the guys responsible for this place being here, and thanking them for the fun that this site has provided me over the years, and I hope will continue to in the years to come (though I'm sure my sponsor fee let's them know that). The fact that I have formed friends here from people I would have otherwise never met, and played games with, and discussed long into the night about our shared interests, and how I hope some day to actually meet them in person. I think about all this, and smile..... And then realize if I had actually signed up when I started patrolling the site, I'd be in the early hundreds of memebr numbers, and wouldn't have seen many of my friends hit their 5 year anniversary before me.... Fuckers.
