After I got laid off my car's breaks failed while I was driving with Eric and Jen. Lucky for me Eric has mad driving skills and he managed to get us all home with about 5% stopping power. So then I fell back on driving my truck. I like the truck when there's no snow on the ground, so it's not so bad. But then a few days later I suddenly can't shift the truck into park. Apparently something in the transmission broke. And since I can't shift into park I also can't remove my key from the ignition.... Yeah, that doesn't scream STEAL ME!!!! in a metro area.
I put the truck in storage so no one bricks it and drives off. So several weeks go by where Jen and Eric were hauling my ass around. (THANKS SO MUCH GUYS!) Eric has been working on my breaks for my car and manages to get them working at about 50% so we take it for a spin... only to have a cop pull us because now the muffler is making a horrible racket and it's too loud to drive around St. Paul.
At that point I accept that god hates me and I make a call to my mother. I have $1100 in my emergency savings and she has a car that she decided she didn't like. (no A/C... my mom's so spoiled )
So here it is. I still need to come up with a name for it....
I'm still looking for work. It's been forever and I'm just about of $$$. The market sucks! If you don't have a degree in a specific field or have 3 to 5 years experience... forget it. But I have an interview Monday so I have my fingers crossed.
I still live everyplace. Two days here, three days there, one day over tharr. But it's been this way for the past year and a half. I'm pretty used to it.
A car is coming in June. I'm elated.
