Unprotected wireless networksUnprotected networks are bad all around. For people who have unprotected networks it is a major security risk, allowing people to have access to your computer and all its files if they know what they are doing, or they could just download and take up all your bandwidth, which slows the whole thing down. For people who want to connect to unprotected networks, it could be a network hosted by a hacker who wants to steal your personal information, severely screwing you over. Also since it is a unsecured many people are probably using it already so it will be slow as hell. Also, unsecured networks and unchanged router passwords are the worst. Just yesterday I was trying to change the settings on CuteyKitty's router, so I reset it, I then found a d-link router that was unsecured and had a full signal strength, I then proceded to change the router settings, half way through I realized... I was changing someone else's password and router settings... Well sucks to be them now. |
